The efforts of transactivists to have Kathleen Stock, a professor of philosophy, sacked from her post at the University of Sussex, have prompted many fine defences of free speech. “Free speech is a precious thing and while most accept that there must be some limits, the bar for curbing it needs to be high,” the Financial Times proclaimed. “Without free speech, and the right to offend, how much longer may we have had to wait for enfranchisement for all, religious freedom or equality before the law?” asked higher education minister Michelle Donelan.

Calls for Loudoun County School Board members to resign are growing louder and louder. Angry parents say they cannot trust the school board and the superintendent who participated in the cover-up of a rape to push the transgender bathroom agenda.
I am of two minds on this. I have myself dabbled with the movie review community in the online arena and there is a lot of fakery and shenanigans when it comes to rankings and ratings. Even when this does seem very much deserved, e.g. we did see shoddy movies like Ghostbusters 2016 having multiple fake (possibly bot) accounts on social media leaving negative reviews. That doesn’t mean the movie was otherwise good or could have been successful as released, but it still sucks that people do indeed do this.
Then again it speaks volumes when those behind the actual movie including the actors show their hand and make public comments such as “Looks like we’re upsetting that right people” These are the (former) cinema ticket buying MCU fans that you are talking about. Something I considered myself as up till the woke direction of Phase 4 was announced.
And you continue to justify the backlash, by maintaining this business model and strategy of attacking the fanbase and using ‘Bolshevik Marketing’ tactics. i.e. giving the audience what you think they need (intersectional identity politics, Critical Theory and Cultural Marxism) and not what they/we actually want. (escapism and fun).
Time will tell as to whether the general audience takes to this new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie ‘Eternals’ when it comes out more broadly. I myself will not be going to see it. Hollywood has gone far too woke, and Marvel Studios are bang in the centre of that agenda. And it looked crap anyway – BrandX.
