As much as the news tries to sell Monkeypox like it’s the next Swine Flu and EVERYONE should be vigilantly protecting themselves against accidentally becoming infected, 98% of monkeypox infected individuals are gay or bisexual men, and 95% of cases are thought to have been transmitted during sex. That’s pretty specific, and despite what CDC guidelines might lead us to believe it doesn’t sounds like the average person needs to worry about spraying their grocery store shopping cart to protect themselves from the pox. So then I don’t feel unreasonable in saying that we need to look carefully at any case involving infected children.
