COMMENTARY ON THE BELOW ARTICLE: I definitely consider myself a local supporter of Nick and his work. I would recommend supporting him on Locals here, as he has some good work both behind and in front of him.
In 2020 he was the focus of a fanatical UK based Black Lives Matter mob, whom applied pressure to get him fired from a charity that he founded over here.
Luckily he was able to win out in the long term and get his job back. He’s the real deal and a good man… we need to support him! – BrandX.
Running for Mayor of Greater Manchester was fun. I did not expect to win, so was not disappointed. I worked full-time on my campaign and gave it everything. I give every opportunity my all, for that is how success is achieved. I never take my foot off the accelerator. I am my best friend and my harshest critic.
I did not receive much negative attention during my campaign. I had a fairly easy ride, considering Reform UK was the Brexit Party. Some people are still fighting the memory of this war over our EU membership. I did not have online trolls trying to destroy me. They probably thought better of it, after my successful online battle last year. Bullies tend not to pick on people who fight back – cowards.
I was expecting my criticism of BLM to be used as ‘anti-racist bullets’ to try to bring me down. But BLM is now tarnished and is no longer a force in the UK. No attacks were forthcoming on any topic or issue. I like to think it is because I am a decent person who put forward a positive, common-sense view – but I could be wrong. I could just have been seen as a ‘nobody’ and not worth confronting.
COMMENTARY ON THE BELOW PRESS RELEASE: To explain, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a Bill essentially cracking down on ‘Big Tech’, stating that “These platforms have become our public square”. Apparently this bill is the first of its kind in the USA. The below press release explains the bill. Though first I’ll quote a portion of some remarks he made at the ceremony:
“When the founding fathers established our country and crafted the Constitution, they were very concerned with threats to liberty primarily emanating from government power, and they believed concentrations of power would inevitably lead to people’s liberties being curtailed. So they designed a constitution that had separation of powers, checks and balances, and it was designed to create a government that could do the things that you needed a government to do, but did it in a way that was as safe as possible and had as many different checks along the way and balances so that you didn’t have an accumulation of power in one part of the government. And I think that they were very smart about that and, obviously, we’ve seen other societies that have not had those protections, the results have inevitably been disastrous.
We are now, though, in a situation where we have things that were probably unforeseen by the founding fathers. Whereas they established a First Amendment to protect people’s freedom of speech, religion, and association from government overreach, we now have a situation in which some of these massive, massive companies in Silicon Valley are exerting a power over our population that really has no precedent in American history, and I would suggest monopolies today, these big tech monopolies are exerting way more influence over our society than the monopolies of the early 20th century which led to antitrust and a lot of trust busting. So we’re in a situation here where these platforms have become our public square.”

“A British Black Lives Matter leader was shot in the head during a gangland drive-by shooting at the end of an all-day party she attended – not because of her activism, a friend and fellow anti-racism campaigner said today.”
What a shock!. Black on black crime (evidently, if we play the odds, following statistics of gang violence involvement). Not to make this about race when this is mores specifically ‘gang’ related… but these reprehensible greivance/hate groups bring that to the table, not us and then fail to be the change that they expect us all to make – BrandX.
