A black superhero movie from the ground up would have as much potential as the next one. For years in the early 2000’s, Blade (as far as I’m concerned) was the standard for high-quality superhero movies. I personally thought that the 2018 Black Panther was fantastic. These were made from the ground up.
But there is a culture within current superhero writing, in both comic and live-action format, that only sees legitimacy in the white superhero characters that we have now. These are the same people that are pretending to virtue signal by repurposing these characters as black. It is lazy on so many levels, highly deceptive and morally disingenuous.
